Through parental engagement parents from all social backgrounds and groups may participate adequately in the decision-making and school development processes and are represented in the parental boards of the school; parents’ representatives are also included in the social, political and external networks of the school.

The main target group of Open School Doors are principals and class teachers, but other school staff who works in counseling and support systems as well – because those professionals rarely have adequate skills for the digitally supported integration of migrant families in education.

In this respect, these main actors of the education system should be professionalized to promote school and parent partnerships.
